I chose DHCP as per network tut answer.

if u checked the interface between R4 &R5 u will not see any IP so there is an issue. Both routers are learning the ips via DHCP so the issue due to the DHCP.

    @Remoo
This is the question that take me struggled.

    A. ESP
    B. GRE

The answer are both correct the ACL must permit GRE ( allow protocol 47 ) and ESP port (IP Protocol 50) x IPSEC,
ICMP is for ping and traceroute
anyway, a piece of the question is missing, I think….

    @Tshoot-ReCert
I choose OSPF, it was explain here at Tut.
If you do show ip route, no OSPF and no neighbor on R5
Select OSPF, in my case this is the issue

If you do show ip route and you see OSPF then select DHCP

Some exam takers mention this in previous post.
    Hope this help.

    Passed with 98X

    Similar to above
    BGP & HSRP
    Aug MCQ’s and TT’s (inc 2x ipv6) are valid

    show port-security works on ASW1
ipconfig /all on PC does not work

Site is very useful, but also need to study carefully of course.

    August 21st, 2019

Passed today with 98x. All as mentioned here.
    – HSRP sim – IP was not assigned on interfaces thus DHCP was the issue
    – missed only one Q in VPN tech. I susspect GRE/ESP question. Configuration was for IPsec over GRE.
    – PPTP is having logical choices. There is present just protocol 47 – no duplicity with GRE option at the same time
Thank you for this site. It is very helpful even without premium.

“missed only one Q in VPN tech. I susspect GRE/ESP question. Configuration was for IPsec over GRE.”
What does mean ? sorry for VPN in PPTP is necessary TCP 1723 and protocol IP 47

    August 21st, 2019

@Tshoothelp. As mentioned I choose DHCP issue.

In my case I saw no neighbor with
    #sh ip ospf nei

but also interfaces without IP’s with

    #sh ip int br

DHCP issue is then more precise and correct answer.

    @Tshoothelp

-Is a question with 3 routers…IPsec over GRE was configured so packets trough router in the middle are GRE encapsulated thus GRE should be allowed. (I choose ESP and I believe wrongly).
In opposite GRE over IPsec then just ESP packets will be blocked by middle router. On test I had first case.

    – PPTP sure both answers are required.

    @NetworkTUT

IN Aug questions this is the answer. But in test link you have provided it has different answer. Which one is correct. Please let me know.

    Question 7

After applying below config on one router, OTHER router started showing authentication errors (you will see output log with errors).

    Applied configuration:
    Standby 100
    Standby 100 vip 172.x.x.x
    Standby 100 md5 authentictaion cisco123!

    What is likely the cause?

    A. Configure “standby 100 authentication md5 keyword cisco123!” on both routers
    B. Configure “standby 100 authentication md5 keyword cisco123!” on all HSRP groups on both routers

In Site Answer was A. In Test Link Answer was B.

@networktut.. for question 12 from August, both answers A and E cover 10.1.1.25.. see below:
    inverted mask 0.0.0.31 start 10.1.1.1 end 10.1.1.30
    inverted mask 0.0.0.15 start 10.1.1.17 end 10.1.1.30

How can you be sure answer E is correct, when answer A also has a valid mask?

has anyone answered this question in an exam and given “access-list 101 permit icmp host 172.16.10.100 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.31” as the answer?

  13. Rav
    August 21st, 2019

    @Anonymous

    Check Clearly
    Inverted Mask of 0.0.0.15 is /28 which have 16 Hosts(.1 – .16)
    Inverted mask of 0.0.0.31 is /27 which have 32 Hossts(.1 – .32)

IP address of local router 10.1.1.25 which fits for 0.0.0.31 Mask.

    A. exec-timeout 0 0

    @ Rav

    Thanks for your reply,
Another point I am unsure of, wouldn’t the traffic be coming from the the router to the host.

The answer suggested “access-list 101 permit icmp host 172.16.10.100 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.31” implies the traffic is from (host) to (router).

Shouldn’t it be from (Router) to Host E.g 172.16.10.100 to 10.1.1.25?

    Thanks for your advice

  16. Rav
    August 21st, 2019

Yes traffice is from Router to Host. Its a echo reply sending back to host.

HSRP SIM, it appear two version on R5
This is the output show ip route:

Gateway of last resort is not set
10.x.x.x/8 is variable subnetted, 2 sub, 2 mask
    C 10.x.x.x/24 is directly connected
    L 10.x.x.x/32 is directly connected

sh ip ospf neighbor – none
    I choose OSPF issue.

The other version (current) shows OSPF route, but no IP – DHCP

    August 28th, 2019

Today i passed the exam 982/1000
    .
    BGP sim
    HSRP sim
    .
    Tickets (1,3,4(with a trick),5,6,7,9,11b (Route-map deny 20),12,13 (with a trick),15,16,17)
    .
    MCQ : (all from Aug)
    1- MPP (Gi 0/3)
    2- MPP(Telnet+TFTP)
    3- OSPF Exstart (MTU mismatch)
4- PPTP (but different question with the same answers)
5- Line VTY (All in use)
6- uRPF Loose mode (Allow packet)
    7- HSRP Authentication (Configure ―standby 100 authentication md5 cisco123!‖ on both routers
    8- CPU utilization (|^CPU)
9- Admin forget login passwords (0x2142)
10- Tunnel up/down (define tunnel source and destination IP)
    11- IPSec over GRE (GRE)
    12- Ping issue (access-list 101 permit icmp host 172.16.10.100 10.1.1.0 0.0.0.31)
13- D&D — Debug (standby, glbp, authentication, authorization)
    .
    .
Ticket 4 trick is that, both R1 in and our interfaces are configured with “ip nat inside’, however, i was able to ping the server from DSW1, but there was no other issues at all in the ticket, so i chose (R1- IP NAT – enter command “ip nat outside”) …… noting that, there is no choice saying (delete “ip nat inside” and enter “ip nat outside”)
    .
Ticket 13 has two tricks, first one is that, there is port security on the L2 switch access interfaces Fast 1/0/1 & 2 connected to the clients, but the two ports are up/up which means the configured port security MAC addresses are matching the clients MACs (no way to check this), the other trick is that, if you typed “show port-security”, you will find the port security violation counter is 1, while it should be 0 as the ports are up/up.
    .
PPTP question saying that, “which two filters should be captured to check all the tunnel traffic?”, nothing mentioned about permitting traffic of NAT device.

I took the exam today and passed with 982.
It said I had 67% VPN and I’ve been suspicious about this MCQ regarding an ACL as I though it was ESP because GRE would be encapsulated in the IPSEC packet..but I listened to this answer here and I feel I should have said ESP..not bad though..I mean this site helped me out TREMENDOUSLY!! Thank you Networktut!!! 982 is a great score with some wiggle room.

    “Router L ==== Router C ==== Router R

L and R routers were showing GRE and IPSec configurations, questions is an ACL applied in router C is blocking all IP traffic, which protocol should be allowed in the ACL to allow traffic.

    BGP , HSRP SIM
Tickets – 10 in exam from these 17.

L and R routers were showing GRE and IPSec configurations, questions is an ACL applied in router C is blocking all IP traffic, which protocol should be allowed in the ACL to allow traffic.

    A. ESP
    B. GRE

Answer: B i have selected same option. Looks like B is wrong. They have ESP, GRE, ICMP & 1 other option dont remember. I think ICMP would be answer.
I got 67% in VPN Technologies.

I passed today (Aug 29th).The score is 931/1000.Only just 4 days for preparation with NWtut with premium member. I forgot expire date of my qualification 1 month later mistakenly. Just 4 days were left when I acknowledged my mistake.Thank you NWtut. That’s worth it.Don’t hesitate to become premium member. We can save time and money in the end. And small feedback here.
1.TT-All TT in the exam are covered by this site.

    August 29th, 2019

I passed today with an 880.

    – All trouble tickets matched. Just please remember that “show int status” isn’t available on the exam. I did find ipv6 ping to be very hit/miss. IPV6 loopbacks would not reply at any point so I stuck with interfaces.

    – HSRP and BGP simlets were a match. The only thing is that for the BGP one remember that the login for the console is “cisco”.

    – MCQ, I didn’t notice the August 4th update so these were all on me. I think I did OK on them.

    Overall a very good match.

  46. Kankun
    August 31st, 2019

One thing I can say here again is…TT covered the exam 100%. SIM also covered the exam 100%.MCQ here almost covered the exam, not 100%. You can pass the exam if you only use NWtut with premier membership, it is difficult for us to obtain perfect score (1000/1000) though.

And I just had only 4 days for the preparation for exam as I noted last message here. So u can pass easier if u have much time for the preparation comparing to me :)
