DSW1 & R4 can’t ping R2’s loopback interface or s0/0/0.12 IPv6 address.
R2 is not an OSPFv3 neighbor on R3
Situation: ipv6 ospf was not enabled on R2’s serial interface connecting to R3. (use ipv6 Layer 3)

Answer:

In interface configuration mode of s0/0/0.23 on R2:
ipv6 ospf 6 area 12

Ans1) R2
Ans2) IPv6 OSPF Routing
Ans3) Under the interface Serial 0/0/0.23 configuration enter the ‘ipv6 ospf 6 area 0’ command. (notice that it is “area 0”, not “area 12”)

Bug in this ticket: There is a bug in this ticket in the exam that under interface s0/0/0.23 the IPv6 address is /123, not /122 but this is not the fault of this ticket so be careful. Also there is no option about “change /123 to /122”.

    I passed yesterday 945/1000, thanks to networktut and all to all comments made by u guys
    i had 3MCQ and 13TTs no EIGRP AS TT. Thank you Belal January 2012 your strategy was really helpful .All TTs on networktut still valid, i used this strategy:
    On client 1 do ipconfig to get the ip address:
    A)I got 4TTs that the Ip address were 169.x.x.x (Using Layer 2 )
    I ping client 2 from 1 on the 4TTs, its only 1TT that there was no response so
    i did show vlan brief on the TT, int fa1/0/1 – 2 were in vlan 10 then i did sh int fa1/0/1 it was down, i did show run i saw port-security mac 0000.0000.0001 on int fa1/01 which confirmed its port security TT.
    Then on the 3 remaining 169.x.x.x TTs i did show vlan brief to know which vlan int fa1/0/1 and fa1/0/2 were assigned.
    If int fa1/0/1 – 2 are in vlan 1 ,then the TT is Access Vlan.
    Then on the third TT I did show run on fa1/0/1 – 2 they were in vlan 10, then show run reveals that vlan 20,200 were allowed on int portchannel 13 and 23 but it should be vlan 10,200 so i knew its switch to switch TT
    On the last TT I knew its DHCP question so I did show run on R4 and I saw ip dhcp exclude 10.2.1.1-10.2.1.253.
    Therefore 3TTS for ASW1-Port security , ASW1-Vlan and ASW1-Switch to switch and 1TT for R4-DHCP range
    I searched the remaining TTs for IPv6 and HSRP questions which were stated clearly in the questions.(NB: The Scenario is the same for all the TTs but you will see the question immediately u click on any TT like this….. “the implementation group has been using the test bed… a trouble ticket was issue indicating client 1 can’t ping the web 209.65.200.241”)
    In HSRP TT its stated that DSW1 is configure to be active but it is not active do show run on DSW1 ( using layer3) watch out for standby 10 track 1 decrement 60 which is wrong answer is DSW1-HSRP- standby 10 track 10 decrement 60
    In OSPFv3 TT it is also stated clearly that DSW1 & R4 can’t ping R2′s loopback interface then you will know that the answer is R2-OSPv3- ipv6 ospf 6 area 0 on interface s0/0/0/0.23
    ON THE REMAINING 7TTs
    On client 1 do ipconfig to get the ip address:
    B)IP address was 10.2.1.3 on the 7TTs so on client 1 ping 10.1.1.1 if u can ping 10.1.1.1 then there are 3TTs
    1. To get BGP, do show run on R1 watch out for neighbor 209.56.200.226 remote-as 65002 , Client 1 is able to ping 209.65.200.226 but can’t ping the Web Server 209.65.200.241 then the answer will be R1-BGP- change neighbor 209.56.200.226 remote-as 65002 to neighbor 209.65.200.226 remote-as 65002
    2. To get NAT, do show run on R1, watch out for ip access-list standard nat_pool permit 10.1.0.0 its suppose to be ip access-list standard nat_pool permit 10.1.0.0 and ip access-list standard nat_pool permit 10.2.0.0 that is permit ip access-list standard nat_pool permit 10.2.0.0 is missing in the show run so the answer will be R1-NAT- permit 10.2.0.0 in the nat_pool access-list
    3. To get IP ACCESS LIST, do show run on R1, watch out for access-list 30 permit host 209.65.200.241 its suppose to be access-list 30 permit host 209.65.200.241, access-list 30 permit host 209.65.200.224 0.0.0.3 that is access-list 30 permit host 209.65.200.224 0. 0.0.3 is missing so the answer will be R1-IP ACCESS LIST- Add permit 209.65.200.224 0.0.0.3
    From client1 ping 10.1.1.1 no reply but there is reply if you ping 10.1.1.2 from client then you will know that its OSPF then answer will be R1- OSPF- ip ospf authentication message-digest on int s0/0/0/0.12
    Therefore 4TTs for R1-BGP,NAT,IP ACCESS LIST and OSPF
    ON THE REMAINING 3TTs
    On client 1 do ipconfig to get the ip address:
    C)IP address was 10.2.1.3 on the 3TTs so on client 1 ping 10.1.1.1 there was no reply so I did show run on DSW1 I saw vlan access-map test1 10…. vlan filter test1 vlan-list 10 I knew its VLAN ACCESS MAP TT but when I selected DSW1 I did not see the right technology that VLAN ACCESS MAP so I chose ASW1 so answer is DSW1or ASW1- VLAN ACCESS MAP- Remove vlan filter test1 from DSW1
    THE REMAINING 2TTs
    I knew the problem should be on R4
    IP address was 10.2.1.3 on the 2TTs on client 1 ping 10.1.1.1 there was no reply so I did show run on R4 if u see passive interface then the answer is R4-Passive interface- Remove Passive interface under EIGRP 10 int fa0/1
    Last but not the least TT was on Route Redistribution where the route map was not configure very well on router eigrp 10 but was configured very well on router ospf 1 just check if redistribute ospf 1 metric 100 10 255 1 1500 route-map EIGRP_to_OSPF is not the same with route map EIGRP->OSPF then you will know its route redistribution problem answer will be R4- Route redistribution- Change the name of the route-map under the router EIGRP or router OSPF process from ‘EIGRP_to_OSPF’ to ‘EIGRP->OSPF’
    There was no TT on EIGRP AS.
    IN SUMMARY:
    3TTS-ASW1(Port security,VLAN,Switch to Switch)
    2TTS-DSW1(HSRP,VLAN ACCESS MAP)
    4TTS-R1(BGP,NAT,ACL,OSPF)
    1TTS-R2(OSPFV3)
    3TT-R4(Passive Interface, Route Redistribution,DHCP Range)
    If my method is not explanatory enough u can use that of Belah posted on January 2012.

    Got a similar like 5 questions, which were pinging gateway, and got upto router2, but router 1 was not pinging and the R1 and R2 both have ospf area configured on them.
    No config mismatches…

    HELL NO solution to those..

    hi everyone – i took the Tshoot exam today, and this question wasn’t on it. the ospfv3 question has been changed, and instead it said that the lo6 on R1 can’t ping lo(6?) on DSW2. has anyone else taken the exam recently? i think they updated this question

    i dont have the dumps, i took the exam and the question was changed – jodie’s solution for the ospfv3 ticket –
    (In OSPFv3 TT it is also stated clearly that DSW1 & R4 can’t ping R2′s loopback interface then you will know that the answer is R2-OSPv3- ipv6 ospf 6 area 0 on interface s0/0/0/0.23) is for the old one that is still on top of this page, i think that it has been changed since march

    Hello folks,

    just passed my TSHOOT exam. Tickets are still valid. There is one change/variation I found though:

    In the IPv6-Ticket the misconfigured link was between R2 and R1. Don’t know exactly on which of the two routers the “ipv6 ospf 6 area 12” command was missing, but it was definitely in Area 12.

    taking this on dec 3. Cisco is really shit taking money, making business on people like us. This is a rip off of 200 dollars where simulators are aged old feel like simulator from the 80’s. Taking about technology…duhhh!!! cisco get a life LOL.

    Hi everbody. There was a bug in my tshoot exam about vlan filter question. When I chose DSW1 , I couldn’t see neither access map nor VLAN ACL . So I had to choose ASW1. As I know it was wrong. It must have been DSW1.

    I got 930 points and now I am CCNP. There were 3 multiple choise questions and 1 drag&drop question. 13 tickets. Tickets are from Networktut. Wrong AS wasn’t in my exam.

    My strategy was , first I used ipconfig and noted the client ‘s ip and the ticket number. If it started with 169.xx.xx.xx , you can’t get IP from DHCP server so the problem is before R4. There were 4 situation and problems can be 3 ASW1 and 1 R4 device, if it starts with 169.xx.xx.xx

    They are
    1)Access VLAN (ASW1) 2)Switch to Switch Connectivity(Trunk)(ASW1) 3)Port Security (ASW1) 4)DHCP (R4)

    Which one which ? FOR theese 4 situations , I first searched which is R4 DHCP problem. Just show run at R4 and if you see ” ip dhcp exclude 10.2.1.1-10.2.1.253 ” it is DHCP problem and the device is R4.

    After that you do show run command at ASW1 device and choose what the problem is, depending on the show run result. (sh int fa1/0/1 will help you for port security ticket, you will see err-disbled when you run sh int fa1/0/1 if it is cos of port-security problem. )

    4 tickets are gone.

    When you do ipconfig , if it is 10.2.1.3 ; first ping 10.1.1.1. and 10.1.1.2 . If ping is ok for 10.1.1.2 and it is not ok for 10.1.1.1 , it is the only case ospf authentication and the device is R1. Do show run at both R1 and R2 to do compare.

    Then, ping 10.1.1.1 if it answers, There are 3 problems about R1.

    They are
    1)BGP (If you can ping 209.65.200.226 , it is BGP problem (56-65))
    2)NAT (If all devices can ping the server adres, but the clients can’t; it is NAT problem. To find just ping to server from R2 or R3)
    3)ACL (The last one)

    4 tickets are gone.

    In the IPv6 question, it is mentioned IPv6 addresses , you can understand it is about IPv6 and the device is R2. Just show run R2 .

    1 ticket is gone.

    In the HSRP question, it is mentioned HSRP , you can understand esaily it is cos of HSRP. Just show run on DSW1 and you can see.

    1 ticket is gone.

    The last 3 tickets are if the client’s ip address 10.2.1.3 and you can’t ping 10.1.1.1 , there are 3 situations (I elected HSRP and IPv6 )

    They are
    1) DSW1 — Vlan ACL(or Access Map) (Vlan filter) If you can’t ping DSW1, it is Vlan ACL ticket.
    2)R4 — Redistribution (Can’t ping 10.1.1.10 and you can ping 10.1.4.9
    3)R4 — EIGRP Passive Interface (Cant ping 10.1.4.5)

    My advice is , first list them and abort ; after you are sure which ticket is which, start to answer.

    Time is really enough so don’t worry about it.
