Ticket 3 – BGP Neighbor

May 4th, 2018 in TSHOOT v2 Go to comments

Configuration of R1:
router bgp 65001
no synchronization
bgp log-neighbor-changes
network 209.65.200.224 mask 255.255.255.252
neighbor 209.56.200.226 remote-as 65002
no auto-summary

check bgp neighborship. **** show ip bgp sum****
The neighbor’s address in the neighbor command is wrong under router BGP. (use ipv4 Layer 3)

Answer: need change on router mode on R1 neighbor 209.65.200.226

Ans1) R1
Ans2) BGP
Ans3) delete the wrong neighbor statement and enter the correct neighbor address in the neighbor command (change “neighbor 209.56.200.226 remote-as 65002″ to “neighbor 209.65.200.226 remote-as 65002″)

    Hi

Can someone explain why on faulty scenario (before changing neighbor statement), command “show ip bgp summary” shows 4 State/PfxRcd ?

    R1#show ip bgp sum
    (…)
Neighbor V AS MsgRcvd MsgSent TblVer InQ OutQ Up/Down State/PfxRcd
    209.56.200.226 4 65002 0 0 1 0 0 00:12:55 4

Anyway, when running “show ip bgp” there are no specific routes received:

    R1#show ip bgp
BGP table version is 1, local router ID is 1.1.1.1
    Status codes: s suppressed, d damped, h history, * valid, > best, i – internal,
    r RIB-failure, S Stale
    Origin codes: i – IGP, e – EGP, ? – incomplete

Weird, because IP 209.56.200.226 doesn’t even exist.

    ellr:

Yes, it’s correct, that there’s a minor issue with both the:

Sh ip bgp summ and sh ip bgp neigh – command outputs within the PT 6.1 release

Therfore pls use “sh ip route bgp” and “sh ip bgp” instead to diagnose the faults within Ticket 3 & 5 respectively

However, theese PT 6.1 command output issues has been reported to the PT Development Team a while ago, and the output problems will most likely be solved within the upcomming PT 6.2 Release!

FYI: I’ve put some further info about indeed this issue on the PT TSHOOT Ticket Forum Page # 1 (Some Posts by July 8, 2014, describing a little more about some eBGP connection States etc.), in case you’ll like to read a little more about it….

    Thank you.

Have anyone used testking/examcollection 642-832 dumps. It has 30 MCQ, 3 DnD questions plus all the tickets.
When you see the tickets sections questions viz. a) Faulty device b) Faulty technology & c) Fault resolution. It is very strange that by looking at just question section (c) you can answer other two question section (a) & (b).
If you look at the Cisco Tshoot exam demo. The (a) and (b) will come first randomly while (c) always remains 3rd question. Moreover, changing the Faulty device answer changes all the possible answer in Fault resolution section. Which give no possibility of using dumps as faster exam clearing skills :(

I can´t believe that this kind of question appears in a CISCO CCNP certification test.

This is more an optometry test (trunk 65 by 56, r u joking) than a networking test. !!Is stupid!!

Necessary that the applicant provide the communication from point to point test case shut down the possibility of diagnosis of ticket

totally agree with Gordon Freeman, but this is the way that the exam has been made

  12. A tech note regarding Packet Tracer 6.1 “show ip bgp xxx” commands:
    December 4th, 2014

    @All:

While Troubleshooting TSHOOT Ticket: 3 and 5, within Packet Tracer release 6.1 – pls be aware, that output from the following two commands:

R1#show ip bgp summ – and:

    R1#show ip bgp neigh

isn’t 100% correct – (there’s a minor issue in showing the correct “eBGP connection states” within the output for the two PT 6.1 commands in the two tickets)

The problem has already been reported to the PT R&D Team.

Because of this, pls use instead:

R1#show ip route bgp – and:

    R1#show ip bgp

while troubleshooting TSHOOT Ticket# 3 and 5 within the current Packet Tracer 6.1 release!

    Thank you.
